Situated in the heart of London’s Covent Garden , Guanbara is a lively and popular Brasilian bar and restaurant that really injects the carnival spirit into the captial. Open into the early hours, Guanbara is a busy and vibrant establishment, boasting 2 bars and a huge sunken dance floor as well as a kitchen producing tasty Brasilian delicacies that span the whole country. Try street snacks such as cassava chips or chicken wings or for something a little more filling, the feijoada (smoked pork, salt beef and black bean stew) which is about as traditional as you can get. The drinks are magnificent, most of them centered around cachaça which can either be taken neat or added to fruity caipirinhas. In fact cocktails are in abundance at Guanabara and all exotic fruits used in them come from eco farms in the Amazon region. Dance the night away to the carnival sounds of live samba or the resident Brasilian DJ’s, and if you’r enot sure how to, lessons can be provided. Guanabara adds a splash of Brasilian colour to Covent Garden and is one of the area’s most popular venues.
